Those engaged in any line of work as a profession or business or as teachers of same are considered professional and must exhibit in professional class where specified. Articles must be completed within the past 24 months and shall not have been entered in the Tennessee State Fair previously. Article must be in good condition and clean. No exhibitor may enter in both professional and amateur classes.
  3. No person can make more than one entry under the same lot number in any class except photography. All specimens shown in collection must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor.
  4. The management will give good care to all articles on exhibition, but will not be responsible for loss or damage, should any occur. Entries will not be accepted before or after receiving dates (listed on previous page). No entries will be returned before the last day of Fair.
  5. Mounting boards, in all departments except Art and Photography, must not exceed 18" x 18" in order that the board will fit in display cases.
  6. No deviation will be made from this premium list. No official, superintendent or employee has authority to add or to take away from any premium money in any class and if money is not earned in its respective class it cannot be shifted to another class and premium checks will be paid accordingly.
  7. The SWEEPSTAKES winner will be the winner of the most blue ribbons. If a tie exists, ribbons will be counted for second place or one place at a time until the tie is broken. Sweepstakes prize will not be awarded to the same person more than one year consecutively.
BEST OF SHOW will be a single exhibit especially selected by the Judge as outstanding.
SWEEPSTAKES and BEST OF SHOW ribbons will be awarded for Sections where they are listed ONLY.
  8. No entries will be returned before Monday after the Fair ends.
  9. Premiums will be paid.
  10. Mailing of Exhibits: When distance prevents personal delivery of exhibits they may be mailed. DO NOT SEND ARTICLES FOR EXHIBIT WITHOUT FIRST HAVING THEM ENTERED. Exhibits received by mail will not be returned by mail. All exhibits must be picked up by 4:00 p.m. Wednesday after the Fair.
  11. Fair management reserves the right to alter, cancel or refuse to show any item in the best interest of the public.
  12. The decision of the judges is final. They may withhold an award at their discretion from any unworthy exhibit. When there is only one exhibitor competing in any lot, the judges may recommend no premium, second or first premium.
  13. Because ribbons are sometimes misplaced, the Judge’s Book will be the final authority for determination of winners.
