Demolish Hunger
Did you know 1 in 8 Tennesseans are at risk for hunger? Help us DEMOLISH HUNGER at the Demolition Derby. Please bring a non-perishable food item on Friday or Saturday night to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Most needed items are Canned Meat, Canned Fruit, Peanut Butter, Cereal and Mac and Cheese. Saturday September 11, 2010
5:00PM - Family Fun Zone closes
5:30PM - Opening ceremonies
6:00PM - Competition begins
Drivers from all over the Southeast will compete in a traditional-style demolition derby for the title of Tennessee’s 2010 DEMOLITION DERBY LEAGUE Champion. These experienced drivers will engage in qualifying matches, a consolation match, and a Champion’s match. This event is designed as a family-friendly experience, ideal for all ages and any local sports enthusiast. Audience members will have the chance to participate and engage in the event in a variety of ways, including:
- Opening ceremony and patriotic tribute.
- Sideshows & kiddie competitions.
- 2010 Tennessee Demolition Derby Championship ceremony.
- Afternoon Family Fun Zone including games and other demolition-derby themed activities.
- Pit Pass: All guests have access to visit the pit area where the demolition derby cars are parked between heats and engage with the drivers and crew.
- DDL Challenge Crushers: The Demolition Derby League will select 24 Tennesseans who in the past year have overcome challenges to succeed. Eight under-14 athletes, eight under-14 teams, and eight coaches will be selected.
